# re: Video: New IntelliSense features in Visual Basic 2008

Hi Kathy,

Just finding youur blog by finding your book VSTO for Mere Mortals I am curious to know looking at the links about Visual Basic:

what is the difference between

Visual Basic 2008 and Visual Basic 9.0.

Looks like the latter is based on the "old" VB ?

Thanks for any clarification delivered,

Peter

Hi Peter,

They are the same. The official name is Visual Basic 2008, although you'll sometimes see folks call it Visual Basic 9.0 (especially before the official name was announced).
