I am no fan of RDRAM. I purchased a Pentium 4 computer from a major OEM several years ago (pre-Windows 2000). At the time 256 Mb was "more memory than any one would ever need" so that's what I bought. It was RDRAM so it was supposed to be faster than regular memory and the 1.4 Ghz processor really took advantage of it. Uh-huh. A year or two later Amazon had RDRAM listed so I put it on my wish list because I'm pretty hard to shop for. My Mom purchased it for me for Christmas and I installed it about a month later--one DIMM. Lo and behold RDRAM has to be installed in pairs so I went back to Amazon and ordered another one. I'm still waiting for my order to be filled. Lessen learned--never order RDRAM.
