Techies, be business-savvy

I would like to thank all thoughtful readers, who read the summary and emailed me their suggestions for next week. To give a quick snapshot of suggestions - 7 Habits of Highly successful people was the first book to be recommended.  "Less is More" by Jason Jennings was recommended by a special request. Several people in "Office" suggested Good to Great. There was one suggestion for "Execution".

Keeping all the suggestions in mind, I've decided to summarize "Good to great", by the same author, as it will be a decent sequel to the first summary.

I have read all of the books mentioned in your post above and I would highly recommend "Execution". A lot of times the ideas presented in these business management books seem obvious, but many companies have a hard time implementing them. That's where "Execution" comes in.

If you make it through "Good to Great" and like it, you should also read "Built to Last" by the same author. "Built to Last" was written first, but fits in nicely as a sequel...if you make it to being a great company, how do you stay there.

You might also want to checkout "Getting to Yes" by Fisher, Ury, & Patton. It's a quick but interesting read.
