How To: Switch Source Control Providers in VS.NET

Currently, Visual Studio.NET provides no easy way to switch between source control providers (for example, VSS and PVCS).

To workaround this issue, Soenke Schau has designed a nifty little tool: http://www.codeproject.com/useritems/sccswitcher.asp?print=true.

To use SCCSwitcher, you have to both download the bits and compile the code. Once installed, the app can be launched from your system tray and is quite unobtrusive.  Each time you switch provide, you must close all instances of VS.NET and open a new instance of the IDE to register and start using the new provider.
