But I have to query your use of "Northern Europe" for Ireland.

I live in Finland. Not *that* is Northern Europe :)

We have much in common then. My mother's parents (Carlson/Peterson) were both Swedish (with a touch of Estonian on one side).

I recently started having a similar experience, where the blog is ranking high for a number of searches, including my name. Since I think that not that many people *link* to the site, I'm wondering now whether the famously secret Google page-ranking algorithm isn't a combination of links with, perhaps, click-throughs. I'm basing this hunch on looking at my referrer log, where I can see that people making general searches (e.g. "blog redmond high school") will click the link to my blog. (Which happens to mention RHS, but which I can pretty much guarantee is not the target for a lot of other pages on RHS.)

Anyway, we Mike Popes are few in number, but we have a respectable Web presence. :-)
