Return of the King, Part 2

For those that can think back a month or so, you may have recalled that I used the title, “ The Return of the King, baby! ” to describe Rob Howard returning to writing his column on MSDN. Well, that tumultuous event has a echo. Part 2 of Rob's

Performing scales with performance and scalability

I know most people here don't care about the performance of their .NET apps, ( OK, that's a lame joke! Really -- *everyone* should care about the perf of their app ) but *if* you did, you'll want to take a look at the latest information from the PAG (Prescriptive

Matt is soooo close on a couple of these...

Too bad he hasn't noticed anything yet, but all I'll say is, “ none of those are completely correct -- although all would be good resolutions for me”. Oh, and based on another guess, it's not me giving up espresso beverages. I'd sooner invest

Rating content

Obviously, we're not keeping Scott busy enough writing for MSDN (or I'm not processing his articles fast enough). Or perhaps he just wanted to post something on his own site . Either way, Scott has a great article on creating a Content Rating system similar

Be it resolved...

As I walked in today, bemoaning the fact that there is no convenient place to get a triple grande latte between my house and Building 16, it hit me (I think it was during “Eat Your Patatoes (Quiet Mix)” off of the Age of Mythology soundtrack

Chris mentions looking at SellsBrothers.com on Alexa . So, I had to look at a few sites... weblogs.asp.net (great site -- you should... oh, you've heard of it) Traffic Rank for asp.net: 2 , 8 1 5 ( 114) Speed: Fast (73% of sites are slower), Avg Load

That's cool -- we need that

It's Saturday night -- what do losers like Kent do? Poke around, trying to learn PHP. I just came across something that is probably old news -- PEAR (the PHP Extension and Application Repository). It's an application, a database, and more. 5 minutes after

Stick this on your USB drive...

While it's not UT2004 , this game does have one advantage -- it's 96KB. When was the last time you could say that? They even had to lower the resolution of the screenshots of it on the home page, as they were actually larger than the game. Now you can

Duncan's doing my job again

Yes, I should have pointed this out a while back -- my excuse was I was on vacation when it actually launched. I suppose I should have pointed this out as well, but I was waiting until it ended up on the front page of the new VS2005 Dev Center. Fooey

Interesting ASP.NET error handler

Plip writes about an interesting looking ErrorHandling class worthy of a test-drive. Looks like it could be a nice complement to Eli 's article on Rich Custom Error handling with ASP.NET . TTFN - Kent
