Five and still Alive

March 1st 2002. That was the first day I reported to work at Level 15 Menara Amcorp in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. To renew Microsoft's commitment to software developers in the country by setting up a new team called Developer and Platform Evangelism.
One year later, Microsoft moved to the spanking new tallest twin towers of the world, Petronas Twin Towers.

Now after five years, I've spoken at numerous conferences, made a million friends (exaggerating somewhat), and hopefully, changed the world a little bit. I've moved my family and my life to the United States taking up an even bigger challenge and responsibility at Microsoft Corp.
There's a culture here in building 117 (and perhaps in other parts of Microsoft) where you're supposed to place one pound of candy for every year of service to Microsoft, outside your room for anyone who passes by and at the same time, solicit congratulatory well wishes for surviving this long.

One of my best buddies, Mike Hall made a post on his blog about how "manly" my basket of candy is and has more pictures. Thanks Mike! for making my first year in MED a blisterful but amazing experience.
Two more years and if I'm lucky, I'm trading my "Cave of Wonders" for a "Window to the World".
