But enough about me…
The Longhorn SDK team was officially formed in the summer of 2002 by combining talent from the Platform SDK team with the .NET Framework SDK team. Later we snatched some more talent from the Windows Client SDK team. I haven’t counted, but there must be at least 100 years of SDK experience on this team.
Believe it or not, there are no writers, editors or even graphic artists on the Longhorn SDK team. We are the team of Dev, Test, PM and Build that coordinates and builds the SDK from content provided by over 30 different teams across the company. We do all the SDK program management, the documentation and “kit” builds as well as all the automated testing we can to ensure a good SDK.
The LHSDK team has lots of other responsibilities beside the Longhorn SDK (like the PSDK, .NET Framework SDK, various other SDK’s, Terrarium [see Mitch Walker’s blog: http://blogs.msdn.com/mitchw ] and WinFX reviews), but I’ll cover those in another post.
