Lori Pearce [MSFT]
…insert sheepish grin…
I guess it’s clear by now that I’ll never be a top blogger like BradA or JLedgard or the rest. I just don’t blog often enough and I don’t have the kind of deeply technical blog that is in such high demand.
But I do have some news. For those of you who have followed .NET for while, you’re probably familiar with David Treadwell. The great news is that he’s been promoted to VP! I think this demonstrates that MSFT is very serious about .NET (as if that wasn’t obvious already) and deeply commitment to our developer customers. On top of that, Dave is just a great guy who is fully in touch with his inner nerd. J There was a spontaneous cheer when he shared the news with us this week. Congrats Dave!!!
Other news: The SDK team has recently delivered another pre-release of the WS2K3 SP1 PSDK and we are about to RTW the PSDK for WinXP SP2. We’re also hard at work on the Beta 2 version of the .NET FX 2.0 SDK and the next LH SDK. We create LHSDK builds regularly here at Microsoft, but only release them along with Longhorn OS releases. Unfortunately, those are still few and far between until we reach Beta 1. Patience, I’m told, is a virtue.
The other items that keep the team busy include: keeping track of the growth of WinFX, running WinFX API reviews, running WinFX app building exercises (how do we know WinFX is any good unless we try to use it like the rest of you would?) and keeping the .NET game Terrarium alive and kicking.
