Voicemail pet peeve...

As a salesperson or a marketer, what is the ONE thing you want a customer to do when you leave a voicemail?

Answer: you want him/her to call you back!

Why, then, do so many people leave their numbers

·         at the end of the call?

·         very quickly?

·         only once?

Do yourself and your customers a favor. Speak slowly and repeat the number. You can also open with the phone number (to save on playback time).

If you leave a message with a quick number that I can't hear and I want to call you back, you've already given me a bad taste in my mouth when thinking about you and your business.

Have you noticed that voicemail systems differ in the button you need to push to "bypass" a message?
