PowerPoint Links

I've been thinking about doing a PowerPoint links post for a long time. Communications is one of those skills that can really open new doors for you in business, and being able to communicate your ideas in a fresh way can make a big difference in your

Closet space, the final frontier

The last event of C4 was a visit to Chicago's Adler Planetarium, with a special behind the scenes (and beneath the stairs) tour of the computer room that runs the video conferencing room and the CyberSpace classroom. Well, "room" is charitable. "Closet"

Checking out and checking in

C4 is over and I'm back in Seattle, which means these last two posts will be Almost Live-blogging C4. I get about 60 emails every day from a robot. Well, not a robot that moves around, but our version control system -- the server that manages our project's

The Peaceable Kingdom

More from Olof at C4. Curiously, there's a lot less Microsoft bashing at C4 than there was at WWDC. Sure, even at WWDC the Microsoft - Apple rivalry has gotten better-natured, but Microsoft used to get much worse treatment among the Mac indie developer

Film at Eleven

It's Olof again, liveblogging from C4. John Gruber took us on a tour of Apple User Interface last night, and talked about consistency and uniformity. But he really got the thought provokage started with the observation "Designing an app is like directing

C4 is Teh Bomb

Hi - I'm Olof. I guess I'm the first "guest blogger" on MacMojo. I'm a developer on the Mac Office team, and for the weekend, I'm in Chicago at C4. I have a really strong sense of what C4 is going to be like, even though I've never been to one before.

Looking Back

Before I get started, I suppose some sort of introduction is appropriate for readers who have only recently discovered that some of us in the Mac BU are bloggers. I'm Rick Schaut. I've been blogging since February of 2004. Here is a short bio I wrote

A day in my life at the macbu ...

Fair warning, this is not a description of a typical programmer’s day. I am not a typical programmer, in fact my wife constantly reminds me that my sanity is also questionable, but I do love my job and I live quite far from it … oh and I don’t have any

Sweet Sixteen

Just a quick update: Recently we got our blog stats for our first month on the net as the Official MacBU Team blog. The results? Of the 3,500 blogs on MSDN, Mac Mojo came in as the 16th most viewed blog! Not bad for a beginning Mac blog at Microsoft.

Productivity Links

I spent a lot of time this weekend thinking about links, but I couldn't come up with a really good set to put together. Then I was reading Paul Stamatiou's excellent post, How To: Cultivate That Killer Idea , and it made me think about the great productivity

Office Delay? Ya Don't Say.

No, seriously, you don't say (or shouldn't), because it isn't true. Over the last few days, some Mac sites have been reporting that the Universal Binary version of Office for Mac (officially unnamed, but currently code-named Office 12) has been delayed,

Mac Office Updates

Trouble signing in with Messenger for Mac 6.0?

Ah, weekends. Time off, down time from thinking about bugs. Well, not if you’re Rebecca, one of our star Messenger testers. Starting on Friday night, September 29, Rebecca was casually checking out the Messenger Newsgroup. (Hopefully this was after dinner

Site funkiness - thanks for your patience

FYI - last night the servers that host all 3,500 MSDN blogs (including ours) were upgraded to a new version. Unfortunately, during the migration our site's customized 'look and feel' reverted to one of the default skins - pretty ugly! We also apologize
