Reboot
BOOM! I’m back after a top quality 3 week break. I’d say holiday, but coping with the relatives and an excitable young daughter is not exactly super-relaxing. That said, I bounded out of bed at 6am yesterday, so I must have recharged somewhere.
Now, you’ll be wondering how my plans over Christmas worked out. Well, not too bad:
- Goose. Successfully cooked. If I’m honest, I overdid it slightly which is a cardinal sin with that type of bird, but I excelled with everything else – particularly the pancetta, chestnut and sprouts and the mustard and honey carrots. My step-dad, Mike, had his appetite successfully sated which is the general heuristic for meal success so all is well.
- Windows 7 on MSI Wind. Yup, did that. More in next post.
- Read RESTful .NET. Yup – very good and worth a look.
- Read jQuery in Action. Yup – it was OK, but didn’t turn me into a scripting guru ;)
- Improve my ASP.NET MVC skills. Hmm, didn’t get too far with that, as I became involved in WPF again. Darn it.
- Read Outliers. Failed. Will do soon though.
So all in all, not too bad.
Now, what’s going on in the world…
