Windows Live Translator

I just got Windows Live Translator to translate the copy in TechNet MSDN Technology Summit ad. Translation was done within few seconds which is quite impressive.

The translator does a pretty neat job with single word translation.

However, when array of words put together in sentences, everything sounds kinda funny. For those of you who don’t read Chinese, let me give you an example..  “cool demo” is picked up and interpreted as “cold demo” *like how a refrigerator guy would do his product demo*

Well, I would say purpose is served as I still get the overall idea that there’s an event with some operating system presentation.. some server technique… networking.. experts ..breakthrough.. some gifts.. and URL to get more information.. so yeah I’m getting some idea of what the copy is about.

It sure comes in handy when you are in your hotel room in some foreign country, surfing for interesting local restaurants. At least, you know what you are about to put in your mouth :)
