Released: HP OpenView Product Connector

This product connector, part of the MOM Resource Kit, allows MOM 2000 SP1 (with the MOM connector feature pack installed) to be configured to forward alerts to HP Openview and keep related data, such as Owner, CustomData fields, and Resolution State synchronized between the two products as changes are made.

Refreshed: Tivoli Enterprise Console Product Connector

The MOM Community pages have been redesigned to include dynamically-generated content that lists the most active newsgroups, discussions, and downloads. You can also find links to other Microsoft and non-Microsoft Communities, webcasts, and chats.

Released: MOM 2005 Report Authoring Guide

The MOM reporting and documentation team have just published a Report Authoring Guide on Beta Place. This guide describes MOM 2005 Reporting, how to customize reports and how to author reports to be included as part of a Management Pack. In addition it contains a Visio file documenting the Reporting Database Schema, a Visual Studio Report Project Template and sample SQL Queries.

Download this new resource from the Beta Place. Simply sign in with your passport account and navigate to the File Download section. The link is titled "Report Authoring Guide".

Release Notes for MOM 2005 Beta 3 have been updated and are also available for download from Beta Place. Next milestone for MOM 2005 Beta is the Release Candidate, targeted within the next 60 days. All Beta 3 testers will be eligible to download the Release Candidate and will receive email notification of availability. Upgrade from Beta 3 to RC is supported, so it will not be necessary to uninstall/reinstall to test the RC.

Released: GDR - Q839958: MCF invalid XML character issue affecting all Product connectors that use MCF

When using the MOM Connector Framework with any Product Connector (including the MOM resource kit MOM to Tivoli TEC product connector) there are times when an invalid XML character causes the product connector to stop processing MOM Alerts. This QFE resolves the issue by removing these invalid XML characters from the data before passing it through MCF to the registered product connector. This QFE needs to be installed on all MOM DCAMs that have had the MOM 1.0 SP1 Connector Feature pack installed.

Released: Microsoft Automated Deployment Services (ADS) Management Pack

The Windows Server 2003 Automated Deployment Services MOM management pack has been designed to monitor the ADS services application event log. The management pack for ADS includes event rules for the ADS Builder service, the ADS PXE service, the ADS Image Distribution Service and the ADS Controller service. The events collected from each service are indicative of potentially critical issues encountered with ADS operations during deployment, imaging and running jobs on remote Window servers.

Released: Microsoft® Windows Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol Service (DHCP) Management Pack

The Microsoft® Windows Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol Service (DHCP) provides monitoring for Microsoft® Windows Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol Service (DHCP). Examples include:

  • Ability to monitor for DHCP service availability (stopped state)
  • Ability to monitor for start up failures that are due to issues found within service initialization data
  • Ability to monitor for start up failures that are due to network or communication issues
  • Ability to monitor for unexpected service terminations
  • Ability to monitor DHCP scope health
  • Ability to detect when unauthorized DHCP servers are on the network
  • Ability to detect when DHCP is unable to restore the DHCP database
  • Ability to monitor for DHCP service availability (stopped state)
  • Ability to monitor for start up failures that are due to issues found within service initialization data
  • Ability to monitor for start up failures that are due to network or communication issues
  • Ability to monitor for unexpected service terminations
  • Ability to monitor DHCP scope health
