DSI and Management – Making it Real Today
The DSI roadmap covers a broad set of offerings across Windows Server, Server Applications and Development Tools, and Management Solutions, with all these components architected to work together to provide increased manageability. Specifically, Microsoft is introducing a series of management solutions to provide real benefits as major early steps in the Dynamic Systems Initiative. These are solutions designed to address current enterprise environments and solve customer problems today. Microsoft has already released Systems Management Server 2003 (SMS), and with Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 (MOM) continues its deliverables on the DSI roadmap. Highlighting Microsoft’s investment and focus on management and DSI, Steve Ballmer’s executive email to customers at the end of April outlines some of Microsoft’s efforts to simplify the computing environment and create a coherent, efficiently-managed technology framework.
