marcus's Team System motivation and experience

This blog will share the experience I have made with team system. Besides that I want to communicate my motivation, that drives me talking about team system nearly every day.

Team System VPC and books

I just saw, that the VPC with Foundations Server and Team Suite is now available for MSDN Subscribers in the "Developer Tools – Visual Studio 2005 - English - Visual Studio 2005 Team Suite Trail" area. This VPC is the one we are using for demos, so go and get it to recover what we showed. Unfortunately it is not available outside MSDN.

At many customer events I am asked for Team System books and fortunately the choice is getting bigger. A relatively new announced book is Software Engineering with Microsoft Visual Studio Team System from Sam Guggenheimer. I haven’t read it yet but the extract I read on Sams blog really makes appetite to get an inside view and understanding how to really work with team system and what aspects drove the product development. Another really brand new one is Professional Visual Studio 2005 Team System.

Hi Marcus,

I got all excited and went to my MSDN downloads but didn't find "VPC with Foundations Server and Team Suite is now available for MSDN Subscribers in the Developer Tools – Visual Studio 2005 area". Sure would love to though. I have the Team System - Team Suite license. Should this be available to all MSDN subscribers?

regards,
Bill

Hi Marcus,

I found the VPC - it is located under the VS2005 Team Suite Trial Edition.

thanks!
