If you zoom to germany and compare Live Maps and Google Maps then you will see that Google Maps is not as overloaded as Live Maps.

The most important feature in this release is the localized tiles - but I really hope that in the next version the layout of the map will be "friendlier" and "fresher" - maybe than I implement Live Maps in my applications.

Live Maps is just our consumer implementation of Virtual Earth. Take a look at our mashup gallery out on http://dev.live.com/virtualearth to see what others are building with Virtual Earth. They aren't boring looking at all.

regards,

I know that I could map my own images over the Virtual Earth - but the standard tiles (which are used bye the most applications I found on the mashup gallery) aren´t very "sexy" - 99% of the developer doesn´t have access to such map tiles and so on, that´s why the standard tiles are the only choice.

I really respect your work and the work of the whole Virtual Earth Team, but in the company that I work for, Virtual Earth is never a choice - compare the colors of goolge maps and virtual earth or (in germany) the arial images.

I really just want to give you feedback - no Microsoft bashing ;)
