Textamerica and .Text
I recently purchased a new camera cell phone (LG model L1150). Naturally the first step is to play with all the bells and whistles on it. The 2nd step was to figure out how to get my pictures off the cell phone and onto a website with the least amount of work on my part (i.e. I want to post directly from my phone without connecting it to my computer).
So after searching for just a little while, I came across a free moblog hosting site called Textamerica. I signed up for an account, received instructions on posting to my moblog (as simple as sending a MMS to a email address) and started figuring out how I could get a picture onto my blog. The textamerica website has a handy link which says "Click here to get the code" next to each of your entries. It's basically a <script> tag which goes to the textamerica site to grab your most recent picture.
Using that code, I went into the .Text admin area, clicked on the Links tab, and created a new category called 'Moblog'. I then added a new link with the link title set to the code that I copied from textamerica. Voila! I know have my most recent Moblog picture listed on my MSDN blog. Now my next feat will be to try and figure out how I can grab the actual moblog entry text and place it as a caption on my msdn blog.
BTW, the current picture at the time of this writing is my 5 year old son chowing down a piece of cantaloupe (Cucumis melo reticulatus). I tried to explain the whole blogging thing to him, but he just didn't get it. Too young perhaps :-)
P.S. If anyone has any better ideas, please let me know. Anyone want to see my BF 109E-4 blueprint hanging in my office?
