Drawing on Windows Live Maps

I've been looking to draw regions on a map and zone the country into areas for some marketing research we are doing and I haven't had a very elegant solution...until now.

Thanks to a post from James on the recent Foot and Mouth 'worry' in the UK and how Microsoft could better support the government in such circumstances, I discovered this feature of Mark an area on the map on the Scratchpad.

I had a quick look around and the feature has been there since April according to the Virtual Earth blog - just goes to show that unless you need something you sometimes miss neat features like this (check out how it calculates the area for you!).
