You REALLY Think You're So Smart?

Assuming you equate smarts with IQ, Green's comment castigating me for insinuating that successfully reading my last post out loud has a positive correlation to intelligence is apropos.

As penitence for my transgression a couple of links to REALLY find out how smart you are:

If you have more than 10 minutes, check out a brief history of IQ and take a free test.

If you're like me and don't want to know the ugly truth, try this memory game. Not a perfect indicator, but unlike saying colors out loud, the ability to retain information and process abstractions are indeed elements of formally measuring IQ. Let it be noted that the game doesn't measure logical reasoning and mathematical capacity.

Post your scores if you want to brag... I racked up a 56 my first attempt but couldn't get much over 40 after that.

The truth is only ugly if you are not really as IQ as you think you are.

Horsepower isn't everything, the ability to translate the horsepower into speed and acceleration is also important.

A person of average IQ with an eidetic memory will have very different results; he or she can get more of the horsepower translated.

I don't put much faith in online IQ tests, even thought they tend to give me fairly similar results.

Your previous post with the colors is an interesting test (and probably one to try on analysts), but I don't think it a measure of smarts or inteligence.

Spot on Andrew... I hoped my 'If you equate smarts w/IQ' statement conveyed the fact. Seems like I recall JFK had an average intelligence but a photographic memory.
