&lt;p&gt;There is an option to edit that in Windows Live Messenger. &amp;nbsp;If you go to the menu &amp;amp; select &amp;quot;Tools&amp;quot; then &amp;quot;Options&amp;quot; you'll see a message box of various options you can change.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Select &amp;quot;General&amp;quot; and then uncheck the options &amp;quot;Automatically run Windows Live Messenger when I log on to Windows.&amp;quot; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Uncheck any other options which might be relevant to you. &amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
