Be sure to swing by the newly redesigned Integration Services 2008 portal page on MSDN (and TechNet). The portal is a great place to go for SSIS resources, and will be continually updated with “what’s new” and “what’s best” for SSIS. Also make sure to use the “Feedback” links at the top right hand side of the page if you have anything you’d like to see included on the page - they take the feedback they receive very seriously!

I guess it’s only fitting that the first blog post is about the blogger himself!

My name is Matt, and I’ve recently moved to the Redmond area to work for Microsoft as a Software Design Engineer (SDE) on the SQL Server Integration Services team. I’ve been working in the BI field for the past five years, and have a pretty solid development background in a variety of languages and technologies.

Over the past couple of months I’ve been learning the ins and outs of SSIS. I try to read the MSDN forum daily, and have learned a lot from the great MVPs and community that has formed there. A lot of the time I’ll try to build the packages described in the posts, and wanted to start a blog to document some of the more interesting things I come across.

Being a developer on the team, I also have access to the latest builds. I’ll try and post about new features whenever I can, especially when they relate to customer feedback.

Feedback and comments are always welcome… I’m hoping to make this as interactive a blog as possible.
