It will probably get me into a lot of trouble. Still, its not like a lot of people are reading this, so I might as well open up for once and tell you the straight scoop. XML was a hoax. This is real. I'm currently working an a parenthesis free language. No braces or brackets either. Just get rid of them. They clutter everything up anyway.
re: The XML Conspiracy

Well, you get 10 for style but 0 for originality for that story. ;)

Seriously, if you look through a long enough telescope, then sure, everything looks like lisp. Then again, if you look through a powerful enough microscope, every program looks like machine language. I don't think either is a really meaningful way to look at things.

Please don't construe this comment as sticking up for XML though. :)
re: The XML Conspiracy

My favorite XML gag from years ago was the one where the leaders of tech industry get together to make a public announcement, admitting the truth that XML is 'just a string.'
Language Inferencing

Language Inferencing

Language Inferencing

The truth about XML?

re: The XML Conspiracy

heh -- yup, S-expressions with named pointy brackets.
