What happens when I share?
Max uses e-mail addresses to help you share with your friends. When you add your friends’ e-mail addresses on the sharing page, you’re giving them access rights to download the list from your computer. When you click Share this list, you’re saving those access rights onto our server.
When one of your friends opens Max and clicks Other people’s lists, they’ll see an invitation to download your list. They’ll see the list’s title and message, but they won’t see any of the list’s photos.
Once they accept the list, they can use Max to connect to your computer and download the photos. If you’re signed in, they’ll be able to download the photos. If you’re signed out, your friends will see you as offline and they won’t be able to download your photos.
Keep in mind that when you share photos using Max, the photos are not sent via e-mail. Instead, photos are transferred across the Internet directly from your computer to your friend’s computer. To receive photos, you must be running Max. You will receive the photos in Max. You will not receive the photos in your e-mail program.
And remember that if you close Max while you’re signed in, Max will minimize to the taskbar and stay signed in. Your friends will still be able to connect to your computer and download the lists you’ve shared to them.
What if my friends don’t have Max? Still receiving emails to install Max?
