Finally got it installed and yes I noticed something like this. Signs in fine and 30secs. later it says try to sign in again. :(

We have a problem with my friend. On our school LAN we have firewall for some prots. Can it be a problem to share photos, we can share music in iTunes, Does the MAX use the same port as iTunes?

I'm sorry, but even though this is a beta program, you guys simply don't know what the fuck you're doing. Sharing photos via direct connection? While others are forced to go through the painstaking process of installing the damn software? No method to share photos via blogs in place? You guys clearly have a terrible plan here. Stop worrying so much about WinFX and aesthetics, and start putting more thought into implementation. It seems that Microsoft is so caught up with trying to take down Apple (or imitate, rather) through aesthetics, when the options for customers are limited. The program looks nice, but who the fuck cares when I can't share the damn albums with people who don't have the program? Blogs are the thing nowadays, especially for the teenage generation - take that into serious consideration you aimless idiots.

He does have a point tho. Forcing a 150 megs download to view a photo album? Max sould be tied to the user's "space" on msn for small photo albums (although maybe that's the direction the Max team will take at some point in time).

Nevertheless, it's still an easy to use application for joe q. public to create a simple photo album to share with joe q. public's family. =)

A comment/suggestion regarding this blog...

Since Max was announced, I'd surfed over to blogs.msdn.com/max a few times and saw only the two blog postings on the main page. And I thought, "oh, another one of those blogs that starts with a couple of posts and then is never updated again." I would never have thought to click on one of the categories. (And of course I missed the "September 2005 (22)" on the top.) On Raymond's blog (http://blogs.msdn.com/oldnewthing/archive/2005/11/02/488165.aspx) he pointed out that you have more postings under the categories.

Please ensure that all posts actually show up on the front page. Otherwise some of us will never see them.

(Of course it has been over a month without a post so maybe I was right, this is "one of those blogs"...) :)

i have been trying to use max.. i just installed.. but i cannot signin.. i tried it a lot... it still doesnot work...

Don't give up guys! This *is* a good idea. Try as you might, the masses of data would kill any central server in the close future. The only way to share all data, is point to point connection. And I don't care if it takes a day to download my friends' photos, as far as it happens automatically, without my interaction. And I'm sure, that alternative clients will arise on sourceforge :) there are msn messenger clients for linux as well. Microsoft guys: consider using an open, documented communication method! (I know this brings smaller profit, but maybe not on long term).

I am also trying to share a list with someone and it simply isn't working. It is telling this person that I am offline and that is not the case. I have tried everything the Max Team advised with no success.

I understand this a beta and all but c'mon now, it must be working for someone. Right?

Anon, really, mimicking Apple? Are you serious? Check your timelines before you whip out a comment like that.
