&lt;p&gt;Basically, it's an event that is added to those libraries that will read the binary of the file and upload it to Team Foundation according to a configuration.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;What you cannot control are non-files artifacts such as content types, columns, workflows, etc.&lt;/p&gt;
