It's brilliant.

The main issue I had was that it was not completely obvious that I had to run the "Add user" app on Media Center to register my Passport with MSN TV.

When I first tried to schedule a recording with it, I got an error that was unclear. It turns out that it was because I had not yet registered a user with it.

It might be cool if they could launch the "Add User" app as part of the setup.

I really want to like this, but I'm having a hard time. I agree with Micheal Earls post above - Add user should run automatically, as should the register element. In fact, it would be handy to have a little GUI front end, or something that walks you through setting things up. It's not very clear what each piece is for, and if it's already been done.

I have everything setup, but it fails the connectivity test every time. :-( Does anyone know what port it uses to communicate on? Does my MCE check the server, or does the server push down information to my MCE??

Also, it would be nice if there was a way to see who has been granted rights as a remote record user.

I've installed the app twice, and can't seem to add additional users. Every time I select add new user, nothing happens. Any advice?

Having the same problem as dam... Nothing is happening when I try to add new user or complete registration. Out of beta testing, eh?

It sounds like a great idea, but I have been trying for over a month to get this to work. When I test the connection on the MCE box I get an error saying something like "Try again later." And when I try to remote record from another PC, I get an error saying it cannot connect. The out of desperation I uninstalled it, and am trying to reinstall. But it won't reinstall, because it thinks it's already installed. Ugh!

If anybody has any ideas, I'm Robert at rl@robertlindsley.com. Thanks!
