SharePoint Developer Explorer - Visual Studio Add-in
SharePoint Designer is the only tool available to edit SharePoint content. For those of us who prefer a life in Visual Studio, this add-in from the.kid seems promising. It offers an explorer pane for browsing SharePoint content, and even allows checkout/checkin/publish from within Visual Studio. Check it out here.
