WSE 3.0 Feature List

Aaron has kick started a list of what he believes are important features in future versions of WSE. I would always add performance to this list, ahead of new features, since to me this is crucial for widespread adoption.

http.soap listener, Now only remoting class allow to make standalone http soap service.

We don't have anything to make http soap services with WSE without IIS. tcp.soap is not supported by all client application.

From a business point of view I think that WS-ReliableMessaging and MTOM are the next things that need to be tackled. Once we have those we can really start to create applications that address business problems. We have a lot of the infrastructure things in place: WS-Security, WS-Addressing, WS-SecureConversation that give us the building blocks but the real value will start to shine thought when we can start to reliably deliver large documents around a distributed environment.

PS. Good luck in the new job!
