Here Goes!

I don't know what to think about this blogging thing but it seems like an interesting mechanism for sharing information.

I'm not sure if/why it's better than NNTP but it does seem to be the Big New Thing.

I only hope that I can provide value similar to folks like Raymond Chen.

Mike

Blogging is different than NNTP. For one you'll show up in Google's main search engine. Translation? Traffic.

When you have blogs coupled with RSS, yeah its more or less usenet except without the spam (yet)

I don't know if there's really anything to it yet. My overinflated ego is more than satisfied by being able to contribute to Windows.

It looks fun for having a public forum in which to provide some exposure to Microsoft engineering practices. Or at least my personal hot buttons. :-)

The discourse itself does have big similarities with Usenet. The ownership mechanism is quite different. Time will tell if it will work better than Usenet moderation.

Actually, the content at blogs.msdn.com reminds me of ol' WinBBS (is that still in use? I guess not).
