My blogroll

Micahel?

People often ask me why my blog URL is "micahel" rather than "michael". Here's why:

Years ago I had a manager who - no matter how hard she tried - always mistyped my name as "Micahel". To tweak her a bit I took "micahel" on as the name I used in Half Life Capture The Flag sessions and other venues where I needed a nickname.

Thus when I set up this blog, I used "micahel" without even thinking. It didn't take me long to wish I hadn't!

Now you know.

Hmm interesting story ... I always thought it was a typo that you realized too late to rectify :)

That is one of the reasons I wish I had not chosen "micahel"!

I have a similar problem...most people spell my name Micheal. It's more irritating to me than anything. So I go by Mike.

It always confused me and seemed strange to me, I even did a few searches on your name to try to find out which one was correct, I ended up settling for the wrong spelling!

Am updating my site now... :)

micahel to me is more of an embrace to the root of the name, which means "who is like god?"

the name "micah" in old hebrew "like unto who?" and el means "god"

so micah el becomes micah/el and today's michael.

saint michael the archangel
