Windows Defender Beta 2 is out!

Published 14 February 06 10:39 AM

I've been using this for a few months now on my own machines, and on my wife's machine at home. The thing I love about it is it doesn't get in the user's way. It's not "in your face" - I really think users are sick and tired of dialog boxes that expect the user to make really hard security trust decisions. Windows Defender just sits in the background, doing it's thing...

The RSS link/icon on the download page (its "whats new" for the security at home page) doesn't appear to work like it should, would you be able to pass on that message to get it fixed?

(I use RSSBandit as my "news aggregator")

I installed it in my desktop. It installs and works easily but I could not get it to successfuly update the definition files.
(Even after disabling virus checks for downloads and including the *.exe in the exception list of windows XP firewall)
