Microsoft Word 2010

The official blog of the Microsoft Word product team
Word 2007 Vodcast

Quick FYI. Frequent Word Team Blog blogger Joannie Stangeland started up a vodcast series called A Writer's Guide to Microsoft Office. The vodcast is currently stepping through the scenario of creating a manuscript in Word 2007 (how to pull together your separate files, add a table of contents, etc), and has a lot of cool stuff in store.  Load it up on your MP3 player and enjoy.

Hmm

Since these are WMV files, I suspect that my trusty MP3 player might struggle a bit here!

Just sneaking in here - can't find another simple route...

I've been using Word since... well, since Word came into existence and generally it keeps getting better and better! At the moment I am writing a ~300k word novel in Word 2002.  I *would* have moved to 2007 (I always keep up if I can) but the automatic comment scope highlighting can't be turned off (a big nuisance - I have ~10k comments in my doc...) Just wanted to say PLEASE in Word 2010 can we have a switch for that (like field highlighting?) and a choice to turn off "decorative" backgrounds. If it weren't for those 2 things I'd already be using 2007. Alternatively, how do I get on the 2010 beta?

Generally thought, just great work people!!

Best regards, Julian

I am unsure exactly what a vodcast is, but I am quite interested in this subject, as I am currently coordinating a book project.

A question of immediate interest is

A subject of immediate interest is can Word 2007 handle two sets of notes in the same text? Footnotes and endnotes. Please detail how to do that. It seems to want to change all to one or another.

Thank you,

Sue Ellen

Sue Ellen, you should be able to do footnotes and endnotes separately. Here's the Help article: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/word/HP012265221033.aspx. Just be sure that you click Footnote or Endnote, depending on which one you're inserting. Then, to get the formatting that you want, click in the footnote or endnote, and then click the Footnote & Endnote Dialog Box Launcher on the Ribbon. In the dialog box, you can choose the formatting that you want. If you're working with endnotes, you can also specify to have them appear at the end of a section (such as a chapter) or at the end of the entire document.

I'm back to Office 2003. The reason is simple, Office 2007 is a major hide and seek game for which I haven't the time or patience. The Office 2007 interface really doesn’t make sense. Until now I’ve always been able to use any Windows program fresh out of the box, with relative ease, on the same day. Why do we all of a sudden have to downgrade back to Office 2003 and more over from Vista to XP? Did Microsoft get tired of success?

Hello.

many times i wanted to note matters that is important for me that is need to know it always in life or in future. Such as tips of life, health, computer, memoirs, friend's birthday, ….

require a program that we can make booklet for our. that it had: category, search possibility, date every note that after we can see our notes as date modules,  password for saved files or for program (or every user for just himself, or possibility to create difference users in program),  and so others possibilities this programs can have…

be sure that this program is benefit and will have very votaries.

please forward this suggest to Office's main developers. i didn't found a suggest or feedback form of office's main developers.
