News

  • Welcome to the Mid-Atlantic CRM Blog, formerly owned and operated by Ben Vollmer, a CRM legend ;). My name is Chris Kahl and Ben has asked me to take over the care and feeding of this most valuable resource. Like Ben, my job is to help partners and customers with Microsoft CRM in the Eastern US. This blog is a great and searchable information source. Feel free to subscribe to the RSS feed to stay current with Dynamics CRM. Any tools discussed here are for DEMO only. You should NOT use these in a production environment unless you test them. Microsoft Support DOES NOT support these tools. Everything here is provided as-is with no warranty.

So, does this mean Microsoft will finally give us back regular Wireless ActiveSync?

It was removed from the latest upgrade of ActiveSync with the lame excuse that "enterprise customers felt it was a security risk".

So, how exactly, is sync'ing CRM data, presumably even more mission-critical and confidential than personal Outlook contacts, ok to sync wireless?

(this is a rhetorical question - don't answer it - just give us back regular wireless ActiveSync too.)

No... CRM Mobile does not use the Active Sync Engine @ all, so no go... Sorry about that... I personally use Exchange ActiveSync and LOVE it... :)

Larry,
It will take a few days for it to hit the Download page on Microsoft.com, but it will get there... I would guess mid week, but that is only a guess...

Thanks!

Joel,
Not a complete list. The list of device requirements is published. Alot of devices have different names with the same basic device. So just make sure your device meets the requirements. The big things will be the screen size and memory available. :-)
