News

  • Welcome to the Mid-Atlantic CRM Blog, formerly owned and operated by Ben Vollmer, a CRM legend ;). My name is Chris Kahl and Ben has asked me to take over the care and feeding of this most valuable resource. Like Ben, my job is to help partners and customers with Microsoft CRM in the Eastern US. This blog is a great and searchable information source. Feel free to subscribe to the RSS feed to stay current with Dynamics CRM. Any tools discussed here are for DEMO only. You should NOT use these in a production environment unless you test them. Microsoft Support DOES NOT support these tools. Everything here is provided as-is with no warranty.
Watch this space... New VPC is almost here...

More details will be published a little later today, but we "shipped" the Microsoft CRM 3.0 Demo VPC yesterday. This one has a BUNCH of really cool things configured on it and some AWESOME demo data. (Still Adventure Works Cycle, but much better data.)

There was a great team working on this and I think all of you will LOVE the new image.  Some of the stuff that has been on Michael Rich, Arash Ghanaie-Sichanie, John Straumann, Bill Patterson and many more people. Jan Jamrich did a killer job keeping us all focused on actually shipping the thing. J

Some of the things it will have include: (Many more details will come along later about these.)

1.   Dashboards – LOTS of Dashboards

2.   CRM Form Customizations

3.   Lead Registration form

4.   Customer Self Service Portal

5.   Word Bi Directional Proposal

6.   Data Drill Down Viewer

7.   The list is as long as your arm… I promise..

So keep your eyes peeled to this site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a8edfc7b-01d8-4500-845b-01370d4eed21&DisplayLang=en It should have a date of May 17th or 18th, 2006, not the December 2005 date… J

There will be a partner live meeting on the new VPC on June 8th. You can register here. http://msreadiness.com/WS_abstract.asp?eid=15004120

Special thanks also to our partners who beta tested this and provided feedback. If you have feedback for it, you can leave it at: http://www.microsoftcrmdemo.com/feedback and the VPC team will review the feedback. (Not for support, feedback only... :-) )

Can't wait to get my hands on this new VPC. Does the link being dead mean that they've taken down the old VPC and will soon be replacing it with the new one???

Hi,

I have a problem with Outlook synchronisation on the new vpc demo.

I started a remote Desktop with Gail as user. Starts Outlook. When I try to synchronise for  tasks, contacts, appointments, I have the following error : "The user ID associated with the current record is not valid". Do you have any idea how to correct ?

The purpose is to show what I want to demo depending of the attendees by changing the role of Gail. Also I can play with the roles to show new entities or not. I can have as most of possible in one vpc.

My e-mail address is claude.verschueren@traviata.be I will be on the WWC in Boston.

Best Regards

Claude,
What happens if you log in as Gail as opposed to TS'ing in? Does it work?

Thanks!

Ben,

I have logged off from administrator and looged in as Gail. There is still the same error when synchronizing.
