Talking about Mobile application development.

Anil Dhawan dropped by my office yesterday to collect some hardware, we started chatting about a demo Anil is working on for the PDC, the discussion was interesting enough that it would have been rude not to have recorded the conversation. This was totally unplanned, so the discussion heads in all sorts of random directions, even so, I still think this is an interesting chat, we start talking about how VS 2005, and managed code development abstracts you away from the underlying device, and operating system, and touch on tools, programming options for mobile devices etc...

Listen in, and let me know whether you agree with our thoughts...

Download the mp3 file here (16MB), and, of course, if I have a few spare moments I will also update the Podcast XML file.

You guys should do a podcast about UI design for Mobile devices and small screen devices. That is the biggest difference between PC apps and Mobile apps. They are the bit that a lot of developers get so very wrong and it is one of the most important things for the user! That and that it does what they need it to!

Good podcast though by the way! I like it!

Good idea Sarah... I will see if I can dig out one of the Windows Mobile/CE UI designers - that would make for an interesting podcast.
