Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1 Install

As you probably know by now, we've released Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework Service Pack 1 (as well as the recently released SQL Server 2008). I've posted the relevant download links below:

If you've previously installed the beta release of SP1 then the preparation tool provides a quick and easy way to remove all traces before installing the RTM version: VS 2008 Service Pack Preparation Tool

And if you already have Silverlight 2 Tools Beta 2 installed, you need to "upgrade" it after you install SP1. This simply involves re-running the chained installer at: Silverlight Tools Beta 2.

Hi Mike,

Not sure if it is fixed yet, but there were definate caching problems on the CDN this side of the pond for getting the Silverlight tools upgrade.

Amy Dullard has posted about it here: http://blogs.msdn.com/amyd and has provided a link to the download from her site until the caching is fixed.

Cheers

Ian

Thanks Ian, I wasn't aware of this. For me it just worked. I guess I was lucky :-). Mike

Just incase anyone wanted to know.  You can't install Silverlight Tools Beta 2 if you have IE8 Beta 1 installed.  Apparently they're incompatible :)
