Interesting you got a laptop that isn't shipped with Vista (well not in the UK at any rate; see http://www5.pc.ibm.com/uk/products.nsf/$wwwPartNumLookup/_NH36YUK?OpenDocument )

So did you shove Vista on it yourself, and are there drivers for everything?

Interesting, I hadn't noticed that before. By the time I get hold of the machine, it's already been imaged by our IT department but I blew away that install and re-flashed it with our corporate Vista x64 build.

There are drivers for everything (as it's 64 bit I was impressed). I had to resort to the Lenovo update utility to find some of them as I was starting at a few "unknown devices" in Device Manager for a while.

Hmm, I do need a new laptop; and I'm thinking of avoiding Toshiba because of their lack of Vista support for older machines, and rather buggy Vista support on newer machines.

But if I have to buy Vista as well; hmm.

Ah interestingly Expansys sell it with Vista Ultimate.
