Determining the Right Blog Scope

Shortly after joining MS, I decided that I should create a blog to share information with the world that was related to what I was working on. Initially, this was limited to the migration tools that we were building for TFS 2005, hence the TFS Migration Blog.

However, as time went on, I picked up more responsibility and migration became only about half of my overall responsibility on the TFS team. At some point, I realized that I didn't have the right venue to blog about a lot of the cool things that I wanted to blog about - so I decided to create another blog to track those other non-migration things. For some reason, I though the right place to blog about these things was a PM team blog. Again, I was short sighted in this decision, as I had created another blog with the wrong scope (this time it was too big).

Now I'm on my third try, and I've finally realized that the best scope for my blog is, well… me. So from here forward, I'll post on topics such as TFS, Version Control, Migration, and anything else that I happen to come across that's worth sharing.
