How does System Center Essentials 2007 determine slow connections?
- Can Essentials detect a VPN or slow network connection and determine when to install/hold back on installation of software?
SCE is bandwidth aware because we use the WSUS infrastructure. This infrastructure uses the BITS protocol for moving data and based on the available bandwidth it will accelerate or slow the download of large content. In addition, BITS provides suspend / resume technology for picking up if a connection is lost.
