Association for Retail Technology Standards Unveils New Foodservice Standard Set

Last week ARTS (Association for Retail Technology Standards) announced availability of Food Services standards at the FS/TECH show in Long Beach, CA. There has been tremendous interested from the ISV (Independent Software Vendor) community for a standard in this. Its finally great to see the first specification completed and ready for utilization by the community. Beacuse of particiaption of many vendors in the creation of the standards, they tend to be vendor neutral, utilize some common language, such as XML and benefit the customer. It is ultimately the customer that wins when are standards are created and adapted by the industry.

I also wrote a white paper to better explain why we need a standard and the work we did in the food services area.
