PCI Compliance (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard)

PCI compliance has been in the news for last few years. It was originally started by Visa as CISP, then followed by SDP from MasterCard and all the four major card associations have come together to form the PCI DSS compliance. Its goal is to protect cardholder information and has created 12 major requirements for merchants, retailers or any other organization that deals with credit card to comply with.

Recently a separate organization is created to channel feedback from retailers and partners. In fact today there is a nice piece of information about it in eCommerce Times.
