We were very pleased to have Simon Guest (Director, Architectural Strategy Team) present at architect forums in four Canadian cities recently. He presented some really interesting ideas around putting the user back in to architecture. You can download is slide deck from

Simon not only presented some great ideas around architecting for users but he actually provided some specific actionable steps that can be undertaken to improve user experience. We also had four banks present at the financial services architect forum, where they shared their experiences around SOA Governance, SQL consolidation, Business and IT alignment and REST vs. Web Services. There was also considerable discussion around demystifying Web 2.0 and its applicability in an enterprise context, I will be writing a series of blog posts on Web 2.0 in the coming weeks, stay tuned!
