Where is SOAP 1.1?

Don indicates his trials in finding the SOAP 1.1 spec now that http://www.w3.org/TR/SOAP appropriately points at the latest 1.2 spec.  I ran into the same problem on MSDN.  Seeing as I had neither a mirror or Don's tattoo (and although I heard about his blog post, I hadn't visited), I guessed http://www.w3.org/TR/SOAP11/ and it worked!  A little easier to remember than http://www.w3.org/TR/2000/NOTE-SOAP-20000508/.

This should be fixed shortly on MSDN.

Of course when SOAP 11.0 comes out I may have to update my link again. :-)

XMLRPC is theoretically a light weight version of SOAP, but SOAP is much more standardized and is designed so that higher level services can be built on top of it. SOAP is also more flexible in that it is designed to be used in a greater number of message exchange patternes. Finally, things like WSDL which provides half the power of Web services is closely associated with SOAP and not XMLRPC.
