Hey - What does this button do?
Or has hell officially frozen over?
In case you haven’t heard, and I can’t imagine anyone living in modern America who hasn’t heard, the Boston Red Sox have buried more than 80 years of pain and finally clenched a World Series Championship.
And I find it particularly poetic that not only did the BoSox win it all, but they did so in a historical fashion. As though it was karmic payback for eight decades of whining about “the curse”.
No only did they sweep the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series, but they had to win eight straight games to do so, a first (a win for every decade of losses, coincidence?). They were down to just three outs against the Yankees before mounting a comeback that took the ALCS to the deciding Game 7, also a first. And Derek Lowe becomes the first pitcher to ever pitch the clinching game in all three rounds of the championship series.
Congratulations Red Sox!
Will
