It kind of begs the question...why does it generally take so long to get RTM's posted for MSDN Subscribers? It seems like after Microsoft announces the RTM of some particular software, it takes days/weeks for it to be available to subscribers.

Hope it will be released completely (all languages, platforms and slipstreamed) from the beginning unlike it was with W2k8.

Let's see, that'd be 8:00 AM PST. It's now 3:15 PM CST, which is 1:15 PST. So it's at least 4+ hours. I don't see it in the tree under Operating Systems/Windws Vista/English. Am I looking in the wrong place, or am I just in the wrong time zone? :)

Wow, that's just brilliant, fresh machine with nothing else done to it, all the updates are there through Windows  Updates though.

You know it's a very good new cuzz I think the first version of Windows Vista without any updates has a lot of bugs. I hope this service pack solve those bugs. Anyway, Thank you.

I am trying to download SP1 but keep getting an "Error" in the download manager, it never says what the error is.

What is the Slipstream version? Will all Vista users get a free updated disk of SP1 very soon? Has the internal error occurrence mentioned by James on Feb 15th been rectified as yet? Has Microsoft really got the very best technology guys in the world....?

Feorais, a slipstream version is a new DVD ISO that allows you to do a "full" installation of Vista with SP1. It'll work just like a regular Vista installation DVD except that SP1 will already be installed for you.

If you're a 64-bit Vista user, that is...  It looks as though the users of Vista x64 can obtain

I see the news about SP1 being pulled and updated so that patch wasn't needed before hand.

The one that would cause the machine to instantly reboot all the time.

So is it the updated version?

Still the problem with Akamai. It is not prompting me to Save file, but Im redirected back to the list of the downloads. I deleted all hitory and temp files, msdn and downloads sites I put to the trusted sites. On the trusted sites I enabled all ActiveX options in the IE security, disabled pop-up filter, I tried disable and delete Akamai ActiveX and then install it again.

Still the same. When I click on the link, Im redirected form page: http://downloads.msdn.microsoft.com/download/release/msdn/de_en_es_fr_ja_windows_vista_service_pack_1_x86_72327.exe?lcid=..... etc... back to the http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/default.aspx

The slipstreamed version is now available for x86 from Subscriber Downloads. x64 is coming soon, apparently.

I'd love to go get it if the MSDN subscriptions site was working... Actually I already have the ISO.. just need to be able to get my mey.. yeah-that would be nice. It has been down since sometime last night. I wonder if they even know.  This has been a very long outage.

Have not been able to sign in to download.  Keep getting errors that it cannot "find the benefit that I' trying to acces" or words to that effect.

I got the cannot find benefit thing before.

But if you goto Manage your subscription and then click on the downloads and keys area it worked for some reason.

My standalone SP1 still refuses to work, redownloaded, was a fresh install of Vista.

/sigh.
