New Downloads and Product Keys - VS Professional Subscribers are not seeing downloads - working on it

We have a lot of reports that Visual Studio Professional Subscribers are not seeing any downloads besides the MSDN Library - we are looking at this right now. Sorry for the hassle.

Who designed the new interface - it is horrible. It takes far too long waiting for the list in the scroll box to move at a glacial pace as I try to find a category or subcategory (especially something like "Tools and Resources" which is a very long list).

The old design had faults (mainly that the tree list was too narrow under firefox), but it was *miles* ahead of the new one.

BTW, this VS Pro/Pro subscriber isn't seeing product keys for anything other than operating system.

As a developer, I just want one thing - a nice simple list of all products available. I don't need a fancy interface - a filter at the top, and then a hyperlinked list of everything that matches the filter would be fine.  The filter should offer date, type (eg OS/dev tool etc) .  I feel you are trying to come up with something that is far too complex and in the process *reducing* usability.

Another comment:

What happened to the notes that were often added in the file summary. For example, I can't spot any of the comments that were added to  old MSDN library versions as to which version of Visual Studio they were designed for.

Has this information been removed (and if so, where are the notes about things like DVD/CD volume labels and the "overwrite disc 1 last" that used to be shown)?

The problem where Visual Studio Pro with Pro Subscribers were not seeing the correct downloads has been fixed. We did identify another related where a VL Subscriber with multiple Subscriber Download benefits cannot access all of their downloads. This bug will be fixed in the near future.

Thanks again for your feedback on the UI and other changes. I'll respond back on several of those issues on the other thread.

This new design is  TERRIBLE!  What a big waste of my time navigating thru this eye-candy.. I cant tell you how many times my mouse went left or right or to high or too low (yes, i am in a hurry - dont have all day to admire your boring nav) and i had to start over on the list.

I think the interface once you get to a product is cleaner - but what pain getting there.

Also - how the heck can i tell what is NEW!!!  Please. somebody fix this nightmare.

I don't like the new UI, either.  It is way too slow to find anything.  And where is the list of the newest download?  I can't find it anywhere and I don't want to poke around the new Silverlight UI -- that would be very annoying!

I don't like the layout of the product keys list, either.  What was wrong with the simple, concise list you had before?

I must be missing something obvious, in the new interface how do I get a list by order of release so I can get the newest releases without sorting through everything.

At almost each page, when I click on a download, the system says there is an Error!

How can I access my downloads and product keys?

That's not serious!

Where is the list of last downloads?

Please remove immediately this age-of-stone interface and return to the old one, with just a left column larger.

I still like the old interface. On a wide screen, it occupies the whole window. I could expand more than one item on the navigation tree view at the same time. The details on the navigation tree view will not collapse by itself if my cursor leaves the view. The new interface, in contrast, is really horrible. It is difficult for me to see what downloads are available. When the download list is long, I have to wait for the items at the bottom to scroll into the view. There is not a What's New for me to know what new downloads have just been added. Could we switch back to the old interface?
