I thought there was a way to get a MSDN sub active without paying a ton of money for it.... I have been looking for hours and cant seem to get it to go..... Please Help!!

[Julie responds: I am not really sure what you are asking. In order to download Windows 7 Beta and product keys for it from the Subscription Benefits Portal, you must be a Subscriber. See MSDN Subscriptions Comparison]

I downloaded a copy of win7 form technet and used that key. then got a beta key and used "Change Product Key" in the sytem control panel. Im still unable to submit feedback though. Is the feedback server having issues or do i have to reinstall or actuallly download it off the site to provide feed back?

I loaded Windows 7 onto my laptop at the weekend and was very impressed that I did not have to install any drivers after windows had started up,

The MSDN version of the Win7 Beta needs a key activationin 30 days...OK

But is there also a general usage expiry on the beta OS? or are Microseoft effectively giving it away free to anyone who grabs it before the download close of 30th Jan?

Does anyone know?

So there is no advantage for paid-up MSDN users over the open access versiosn on Microssoft.com.

[Julie responds: I am not sure what you are asking?

1. Subscribers got the beta several days earlier than the general public
2. Subscribers have access to provide feedback through Connect which not all public accessors have. (after a small delay - sorry)
3. For driver developers, the debug build and keys for Ultimate are available to Subscribers - and NOT to the general public. This is not useful for all subscribers though.
4. The features and functinoality made available to Subscribers IS the same as in the public beta (except debug as noted above). Were you expecting something different?

I was able to get my feedback links in Windows 7 working using the suggested method, but it won't let me submit feedback from the Connect site directly, saying I need permission to submit to the feedback area. It's not a big deal, but it means I can't submit feedback from a different machine even though it recognizes my account.

Got my Windows 7 Beta MSDN key off the web site, tried to activate. Couldn't activate online. Tried the automatied phone system, couldn't activate it there. Got transferred to a human who finally was able to activate. She told me I would have to call in every time I tried to use the MSDN key. What's up with that?
