Why didn’t I get any response from Microsoft in MSDN managed newsgroup?

Under some situations, some MSDN subscriber doesn’t get any response in MSDN managed newsgroups and feels confused. This article is used for you to self check the status first before contacting support so that you could save some time.

1) Firstly please check whether you have set up your posting email alias correctly in MSDN subscriber web site. Please refer to the following screen shots.

Go to http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/default.aspx and click “Manage My Subscription” link (after you have associated your MSDN subscription to your Windows Live Passport)

In the subscription management page, please click the “Configure” link in “Managed Newsgroups” part

Create your own posting alias by clicking “update” link. Please pay attention that you need to use one of the four pre-defined suffix (sometimes when you update your posting alias, it will return an error page. Please return to the "configure page" to check it again. If the new posting alias is there already, the registration should be OK and you could ignore that error message)

2) Please confirm you are using the same registered email alias when posting. Please refer to the following screen shots for how to set up it in web client or outlook express.

For example, if we define posting alias as MSDNsubscriber@newsgroup.nospam:

In OE:

In Web client:

First, please click that little “Edit my profile” button:

Then in the profile page, input your posting alias as the following. (There is also a place to set notification email here. It is recommended that you use your passport email account here)

You only need to set up it once in OE or web client. Please make sure you are entering exactly the same alias as you register.

3) Please make sure you are posting in a MSDN managed newsgroup. For unmanaged newsgroups, there is no guaranteed response.

For completed MSDN managed newsgroup list, please refer to:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/aa974230.aspx

4) In MSDN managed newsgroup, our engineer will monitor every issue thread posted by MSDN subscribers. If community members have good answer already, we won’t jump in unless you have some concern. That is another reason why you don’t see our engineer’s reply sometimes. Surely if your question has no answer in 1 business day, we will jump in to provide help as soon as possible. Also, if you are not satisfied with the current reply, just feel free to reply and we will also jump in to follow up.

5) Last but not the least, if you still have any question on the process, please feel free to contact us by clicking the following link:

# I have a problem. Help please...

Recently, my husband started with the potential problem and our relations are deadlocked.

After all, I love sex ... I encouraged him to go to the doctor, and he is afraid.

Maybe someone who will help us, tell of impotence pills and where to buy them anonymously. In advance thank you to all who help!

Sorry if in the wrong section leave a message!

You said that "in the subscription management page, please click the “Configure” link in “Managed Newsgroups” part".

But unfortunately, as of 19.12.2008 there is no such web part. Where can I find it?
