I like both the "blue monster campaign" and SIlverlight and given I'm dabbling around in 3D at the moment, I decided to play around with the idea of combining the two.

Note: This is not the official mascot for Silverlight, instead it's simply me mucking around with 3D. Please do not use this in anyway in conjunction with Microsoft branding.

Here's "Dax" as I'd like to call him (why? dunno but Dax just stuck out as a cute name for the little guy). He's currently sitting in a surgical chair because he made fun of Flashbots new upgrades. He said they were rushed a bit to and looked like he just raided a dead storm trooper for them.

Flashbot obviously disagrees.

I'm so i love with these two cool characters, that I'm using them in my PowerPoint decks next week (TechReady 6 - Internal Microsoft conference in Seattle next week).

Well, Nectarine have done it again. I want to adopt this company, raise them to be the sons & daughters I've never had and marry them off to rich merchants as this latest round of comics is art unto itself.

After the much regarded success of their previous comics and no doubt after featuring me in it (surely that's what got them their real fame, not the splendid artwork) we, Microsoft have supported their talent by getting them to produce some more comics focused around Windows 2008.

I'd argue that they not only have done it well, but captured the ITPro within us all quite well. I mean after all, isn't being an IT Pro about clicking on "Next.." these days?

*runs as Jeff, Deeps, Michael come after me with knives*

I'm kidding, I know at times you also have to click on the "Back.." button as well, it can be exhausting work! heheheh

(NOTE: Jeff and Michael do more then wizard stepping and I'd like to give a shout out to our local IT Pro folks as without you folks doing what you do, us developers would no way of navigating the hurdles that we face within security, network and so on.. You are more than Next/Back Button clickers to me and I want to celebrate that out loud and proud... you guys/gals.. complete me..)

Barely Out of Beta - Part #2 - RIA Definition continues to be unresolved.

Nectarine have put up Part #2 of the infamous RIA saga, "Barely Out of Beta". I think it's fitting given after reading about Adobe staffer's latest nit picking over definitions that Microsoft use.

"...(I was really tempted to have a ragged little voice at the end, coming out of the fight, saying "Did someone mention ten dollars?". But comics are about distilling down to the essence of joke, and you only have so much room. So I didn't push Steve to shove yet another bloody balloon over his gorgeous artwork.)

We realize there's only so many RIA acronym gags you can make before people, well, gag (and believe me, we still had heaps more!). So you'll be pleased to know that soon we'll be taking potshots at others areas of this great, wide development landscape..." - Minty.

Minty (Nectarine.com.au, makers of infamous funny Flash animated cartoons) just sent me an email letting me know one of what will be many comic strips centered around the online web is now online.

I think the first one is brilliant especially since a few Adobe staffer's and I have gotten into a bit of an online debate over RIA (Interactive vs Internet). Any guesses as to whom the Windows guy is? *grin* and how about the Adobe guy....

I especially love the Linux shirt.
